Building a growing city
WestConnex is part of an integrated transport plan to keep Sydney moving – easing congestion, creating jobs and connecting communities. The new motorway will provide crucial support for Sydney’s long-term economic and population growth.
The Lendlease Samsung Bouygues Joint Venture (LSBJV), comprising of Lendlease Engineering, Samsung C&T and Bouygues Construction Australia (subsidiary of Bouygues Travaux Publics) is designing and constructing the WestConnex twin 7.5km motorway tunnels.
One of Australia’s largest transport infrastructure projects, will transform the way Sydney moves. It will link the M4 and M5 road corridors through a continuous, free-flowing motorway built mostly in underground tunnels, taking trucks and cars off local roads.
As well as generating more than $20 billion in economic benefits for NSW, WestConnex will help motorists avoid scores of traffic lights - so they spend less time stuck in traffic and more time doing what they love.
WestConnex will make travel safer, more reliable and more efficient. It will deliver people and goods to their destinations more quickly, cutting through congestion, cutting costs for businesses and improving surface roads for local communities.
WestConnex is part of a long-term vision to reinvigorate Sydney’s transport network and will work alongside world-class public transport projects like CBD and South East light rail projects, Sydney Metro Northwest, and Sydney Metro City and Southwest rail projects.
With an extra 1.6 million people expected to call Sydney home in the next twenty years, WestConnex will support this growth and help deliver the capacity to keep our great city moving.
Just wanted to say a massive thank you. The reception area looks absolutely brilliant, so clean and professional and exactly what we were after. PJ was so lovely too. Really easy to work with even though we changed our mind a million times. I think he was here late too so please charge for that. Thank you thank you thank you!
