Taking Engagement on the Road

Exposure Group delivered the ACEREZ Community Van to support outreach across the Central-West Orana Renewable Energy Zone (CWO-REZ) in regional New South Wales.

The CWO-REZ is a large-scale renewable energy infrastructure initiative coordinating solar, wind and energy storage projects within a shared transmission network. Spanning approximately 20,000 square kilometres, the project requires consistent and accessible engagement across geographically dispersed communities. The Community Van has therefore been conceived as a practical, mobile platform that enables project teams to facilitate consultations, information sessions and ongoing updates directly within regional locations.

Built on a MY25 VW Crafter long wheelbase high roof platform, the vehicle has been custom fitted to function as a self-sufficient outreach environment. The internal layout integrates cabinetry, bench seating and storage in a format that supports structured discussion, while maintaining clear circulation and usability. Roof-mounted solar panels and an auxiliary battery system enable off-grid operation, supported by Starlink connectivity to ensure reliable communication in remote areas.

A swivel-mounted touchscreen allows the vehicle to operate in both presentation and external display modes, enabling information to be shared flexibly depending on location and audience. Custom internal and external graphic treatments reinforce project identity, while a deployable awning and portable engagement furniture extend the usable footprint beyond the vehicle itself.

Large-scale infrastructure initiatives rely on clear and ongoing communication. The ACEREZ Community Van provides a durable, adaptable and regionally deployable environment that supports transparent dialogue over time. Rather than a temporary activation, it functions as a long-term outreach asset — designed to meet communities where they are and facilitate meaningful engagement throughout the lifecycle of the project.
